Getting the two sides together at the same time seemed a good way of helping one university to encourage investors in its research activities. From a seminar called academic entrepreneurship another state's biotechnical center gained their funding. Technological advancement is the reason behind the creation of such centers under the state law. The state will evaluate the application of a center to see if certain qualifications are met.
It is strictly enforced that any center that benefits from the one million dollar state funding should also generate the same amount of money from a private source. Acting as a cosponsor a venture capital organization arranged a conference that focused on dentistry, surgery, and drugs. There were probably 50 or so companies during the conference with business natures ranging from pharmaceuticals to biotechnics and even venture groups. To generate the interest of the companies in the conference a university representative gave an overview of the dental research they are conducting and what purpose the studies serve.
The participants paid close attention to the discussions during the conference and this came as a surprise to those who were ready for the worst to happen. He also found a lot of interest from companies he had not suspected of being interested in dental products. Annual conferences are to be expected from this point on after much success. Generating interest is good but for events like these gaining investments is even better. Amazing results yielding dozens of research contracts made everything more worthwhile.
The periotron was developed after one research project and this tool utilized crevicular fluid in a way that allowed dentists to diagnose periodontal problems and gingivitis as well as find the best treatment for each. Money matters almost always result to forms of competition among people. Government money is no longer easy to generate with gradually decreasing growth rates year by year and so the officials have limited resources preventing them from providing the necessary funding research programs may call for. Problems like the aging of equipment not to mention problems with inflation can worsen the situation. Much rivalry already exists among those who are in line for the research funding. In dentistry there was a time when dental graduates were exceeding in numbers while the rate of the onset of cavities significantly dropped.
