Initially, the Riccar RSL4 is only eight pounds in weight. This is exactly the same weight as the well-liked Oreck vacuum.
The Oreck and Riccar lightweights have a lot in common. They both weigh eight pounds, they both are easy to push, they both use a filter bag, and neither one has attachments.
The Riccar RSL4 vacuum cleaner has a 5.5 amp motor that is a little more powerful than the 4 amp Oreck motor. The Riccar RSL4 also has paper bags that are very alike in quality and size to the Oreck vacuum bags. They are both micron filtration bags.
The RSL4 has a feature that sets it apart from the other Riccar vacuums. It has a two speed motor. The higher speed setting is utilized for vacuuming carpet. The lower setting is utilized when sweeping bare floors, whether they be tile, wood, or linoleum.

The Riccar RSL4 frequently comes with a small canister vacuum to use on carpeted steps, upholstery, and inside the car. Since the Riccar RSL4 doesn't come with attachments, the canister vacuum cleaner is helpful.
The only disadvantage with the lightweight vacuum cleaners is the lack of power. The motors are small and do not deliver enough suction for deep cleaning. This type of vacuum works very well with lower pile carpeting or Berber carpet.
The weight comes in very handy, if you are hauling the vacuum up and down stairs to clean. It's also a bonus if you have difficulty hauling heavier vacuum cleaners. Most upright vacuums weigh about 15 or 16 pounds.
