"ORA-01578 runtime error" – It is an Oracle database table error which has occurred when there are many blocks of the table have corrupted. In that situation, the database table has become inaccessible because of the un-readability of the Oracle application to its existing table. This circumstance leads you to the serious data loss condition but you can exfoliate from this data loss problem if you have any previous or updated data backup of lost data. In case you don’t have any backup of the existing Oracle database data then you will need a third party Oracle Database Recovery Software to get rid from this problem.
Reasons that are behind in the block corruption:

Mainly two types of corruption have been found in the Oracle database table: Logical & Physical. There are lots of Logical & Physical corruptions have behind in the inaccessibility of the Oracle database table, few of them are: virus attack, improper attempts of NOLOGGING, crashed hard drive & more.

Whenever you encounter with the block corruption, the first thing you will need to do is investigate the database segment in which the corrupted block is allocated. Thus, there are two anticipatory parameters for dealing with the block corruption:

• DB_BLOCK_CHECKING - A server process that checks data blocks for internal consistency and integrity.
• DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM - It calculates the checksum for every block before writing to the hard drive.

The developers of Oracle have provided an inbuilt utility - RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager). It has design for detecting the block corruption whether it has arisen due to physical & logical. RMAN has specially worked with servers & normally it used to take a backup of Oracle database & restore it even if the Oracle database has corrupted because of any reason.

The main role it plays to detect the physically corrupt data blocks on Oracle database whenever you backing up the database or restoring it. RMAN cannot automatically check the logical corruption of the blocks. You need to specify the 'CHECK LOGICAL' option for distinguish the logical corruption.

In case the RMAN unable to fix the block corruption, the Oracle database remains inaccessible. This leads you to the data loss condition & puts you in the need of professional third party software that will help you in recovering data from unusable or inaccessible dbf files of Oracle database.

Recover Data for Oracle Database recovery software is a complete solution for recovery of Oracle database data. Oracle repair software successfully repair Oracle database of Oracle 9i, 10g & 11g.
