You are losing weight and have been very successful so far, but your friends want to go out and have fun. You are worried about food choices. When we go out to places like the movies, a sporting event, and bowling we like to eat the food at the event. It is part of the atmosphere. Here are something foods to avoid and healthy choices you can make.

A study came out that said 85% of people attending an evening movie will purchase dinner or concessions. Many people buy concessions every time they see a movie, while some people only buy it occasionally. The two foods purchased the most are their favorite box of candy and a large buttered popcorn (which has about 1240 calories), and then to make yourself feel good you will buy a large diet soda. By the time you have purchase the candy, popcorn, and soda you have about 1640 calories! Theaters are beginning to expand their food choices to include some healthier options. If you must get a candy to snack the two best options are Raisinets and Gummi Bears. The down side is they are both still loaded with sugar. The best beverage to purchase is a bottle of water. Sodas and even juices are loaded sugars that are not good for you. If your movie experience is not the same without popcorn, buy a small of child size popcorn with no butter. You will definitely be saving calories and fat there. Of course the best option of all is to bring healthy snacks from home, whenever possible.

Sporting events usually have a larger variety of foods. There are usually more places to get a meal. They offer hamburgers, french fries, soda, sandwiches, pizza, and ice cream. Many of these options are high in calories and fat. A good option for avoiding diet crashing foods at sporting events is to eat beforehand. You can eat a good delicious meal at home or find a restaurant that offers many healthy options. This way you can stay on your diet and not over eat. Another healthy alternative is to have a tailgating party. Here you can make foods that are less fattening; however, if you must eat at the game, there are some things you can do to lessen the temptation. Eat a little bit before the game. You won’t feel as tempted to purchase that big tub of buttered popcorn. Scout out the arena or stadium. Take a walk around and see what options they offer. Many arena and stadiums offer more healthy options. The most important thing you can do is skip the alcohol. Beers are loaded with empty calories. Choose water as a healthy alternative.

The best thing you could do is to eat a snack before going out with your friends. This will help you to not over eat. A good pre-outing snack is whey protein. Whey protein is dairy based so your body will digest it easier. It also helps to create lean muscles. Lean muscles burn calories when you are resting. Whey protein isolates are 90% pure protein compared to concentrates. Whey protein will help you to avoid making those bad decisions.

Whether it is going to the movie theater or going to a sporting event, you can make good food decision. Just look around you.
