It could be considered the food of love. We give it to our sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, doting parents give it to their children in the form of a bunny on Easter, it sweetens the beginning of a date in a heart-shaped box. There are so many links between chocolate and love. It is high time chocolate received the recognition it deserves.

Too many have attacked it as a guilty pleasure, a distraction from a healthy diet., but, when enjoyed in moderation, it actually has significant health benefits. It contains flavonoids and antioxidants, important for improved blood flow, and these have also been shown to guard against heart disease and cancer causing free radicals.

But chocolate goes beyond clinical studies and scientific analysis, it is something near and dear to our hearts not just chemically, but emotionally as well. It has long been thought of as an aphrodisiac since the time of the Aztecs. Scientists now attribute this effect to two chemicals it contains, tryptophan, a building block of serotonin, which has been shown to lessen pain, and phenylethylamine, a stimulant related to amphetamine, which is released in the brain when people fall in love.

So there it is. Maybe we love chocolate because it helps us fall in love. Even if this effect is primarily psychological, can’t we indulge in such a delicious treat every once in a while?

Well, for two fitness trainers, the answer is yes. After realizing that many clients feel discouraged by cutting out sweets, they developed a chocolate treat that improves on the already emotional and nutritional value of chocolate.

Good Energy Chocolates revive the love affair we have with chocolate. They are bite-sized treats that combine the natural benefits of chocolate with a blend of additional vitamins and supplements to provide maximum health benefit. They contain guarana, Green Tea, Carnitine to boost metabolism, and Glutamine to promote muscle function and help stabilize blood sugar. They also contain vitamins B5 and B12, essential for good metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates and proteins and for normal functioning of the brain and nervous system.

Don’t kiss chocolate goodbye just because you have improved your goals for better nutrition. It can actually help you as you try to stick to your dietary goals. Those who consistently enjoy a chocolate treat like Good Energy Chocolates are much more likely to keep their cravings under control while including a guilt-free pleasure in their diet. With so many reasons to bring chocolate back into your life, you just might feel like a long lost love has come back for good. Only now you’ll better understand what chocolate has been trying to do for you all along. By providing health benefits and a delicious treat, you’ll be able to improve nutrition habits, and the best benefit of all is that in the end you will love yourself for all of the progress that you’ve made. So when all is said and done, it seems chocolate really does help you fall in love.
