Bermuda based First Atlantic Commerce Ltd. (FAC), a leading international, online multi-currency payment gateway, provided online payment processing in a “business as usual” manner to its merchants, while hurricane Bill, a Category Three hurricane, passed 166 nautical miles west southwest of the Island of Bermuda
Hurricane Bill churned past Bermuda early on Saturday morning, leaving behind stormy sea conditions, debris and some flooding, but no major structural damage. Up to 3700 homes across the island lost power during the storm, caused by debris falling onto power wires and winds blowing out switches. Electricity across the island has now been restored, roads have been cleared of debris, and the island is again operating as normal.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1st to November 30th.
