Steamed Vegetables is excellent sources of a variety of natural biochemical and antioxidants that can reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases and are a rich source of fiber. Choose a vegetable steamer basket, if space is at a minimum. A steamer basket is made out of metal, with feet that keep the bottom of the basket above the water. Place the basket in the bottom of a 2-quart saucepan. Add water, but do not let the water cover the bottom of the basket.
