You may have heard the saying that you need to give before you receive, but what does that really mean?
For a moment, imagine that there’s a river of money flowing around you, what would it take for you to receive some of that money? All it takes is the simple act of extending your arm, opening your hand and allowing the flow of the river to place it in your hand.
I know this sounds overly simplistic but it illustrates how in reality you can only receive when you have allowed the act of extending yourself in some way so that the pathway in to you is clear to receive.
Sometimes it involves performing a service of some sort or providing a product and other times it can be the act of asking for help, whatever it maybe, it’s the extension of yourself that has you be open to receiving. And life is indeed a river of abundance that is only too willing to give you whatever you want, so why does it seem so difficult at times?
Going back to the example of the river of money, what most people do metaphorically is walk through the river with their arms crossed over their chest and then “hope” that some cash will find its way in! A little may get lodged in the folds of their arms but it’s not really the easiest way to receive.
Continuing with this money river example, you may say, “well ok, if only there was such a thing”. Well…what if there was, in science it’s been proven that everything in the universe is made up of energy, from the chair you’re sitting in to the air you’re breathing, to the body you’re living in. The only difference between any “thing” is that the energy is vibrating at different frequencies to make up that particular object. If you accept this science as true, then you accept that money is simply another form of that same energy and it responds to your frequency through the thoughts you put out.
With this understanding, the giving aspect discussed above, is really an aligning to a vibrational frequency that opens up the channel so that whatever comes from you also comes into you.
This is why it’s said, if you want money, give money, if you want time, give time, if you want love, give love. Whatever you want, give it first and you will align yourself to receiving it. Life is all about harmony and flows of energy, the rain and sun give nutrients to the plant, the plant in turn grows and provides nutrients to other organisms, and so on.
As humans, we’ve increasingly become disconnected with these natural flows of energy through negativity and self-loathing and so disease and illness has set in.
So while you may want more for yourself, you can actually get it by sincerely and genuinely learning to give, but most importantly of all, learn to give yourself the love and joy you seek by allowing yourself to feel good in this moment. From there, as you discover the art of living life from a place of love and joy, no matter what’s happening around you, life will be fine and you’ll find yourself flowing with life naturally.
And finally, be aware of what you think, as what you give in thought has just as much weight in an energetic sense as what you give physically, so start to notice your thoughts and be gentle with yourself when you catch yourself thinking things that may not support you. You may not realise it, but you have a choice on how you see life, look for the good everywhere and life will be great for you.
