According to Mark Wahlberg, Entourage was conceived when his assistant asked if he could film Wahlberg and his friends, calling them "hilarious." Other reports credit Eric Weinstein, a long-time buddy of Wahlberg's, using the notion of filming the actor's number of friends. In order to be more satirical with the Hollywood way of life, an imagined strategy was chosen as opposed to a straight documentary so that the content light, and steer clear of immediately depicting Wahlberg's violent past.
Vincent's older half-brother Johnny "Drama" Chase (Kevin Dillon), is Vince's individual chef, trainer and bodyguard.
