Martha Stewart, America's lifestyle guru, has recently visited Israel and travelled, among other places, to the lowest place on earth – the Dead Sea.
Martha Stewart, long considered the lifestyle guru, who also edits a lifestyle magazine and hosts her own talk show, met last week with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sarah.
The meeting was part of her five-day visit in Israel, as guest of the Ministry of Tourism. During her visit, Stewart scouted possible locations for her hit lifestyle show, and promoted the Dead Sea in the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign.
The busy itinerary left no time for rest as she visited Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the Galilee, Masada, and the Dead Sea. Visiting the Dead Sea, Ms. Stewart voted for the lowest point on Earth in the finals of the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign, at the Mineral Beach.
During her visit at the Dead Sea's Mineral Beach, Ms. Stewart tweeted to her Twitter followers:
"I am at the lowest point on earth, about 420 meters below sea level. The water is about 90ish degrees. The bottom drops off very quickly but no fear of sinking. Very buoyant."
The Dead Sea is one of the finalists in the New7Wonders of Nature competition. You are invited to take part and make yourselves heard by casting your vote by 11/11/2011 – the final day of voting.
