The Evolis Quantum is a special plastic identification card printer. It is designed for organizations that produce a large volume of printed plastic cards. The card printer is perfectly designed for those groups that need to produce thousands of cards per week. This printer will hold up to the demands of printing for hours and hours at a time to produce the large output required for high printing.
One outstanding feature of this printer is its speed. Many card printing jobs need to be completed in a short time frame for a special mailing or specific event. This printer can personalize a preprinted card with black text in just seconds. If a blank white card needs to be customized with full color logo and information, this card printer is able to produce multiple custom cards quickly. If the cards will be encoded to coordinate with high technology systems, such as access control, the encoding can be completed with the card printing in the single pass of the card through the printer system.
To help facilitate this large printing requirement, Evolis has designed the printer to accept larger ribbon rolls. Some print ribbons for the Quantum provide card counts of 3,000 prints per roll. This keeps the printer moving on its own and eliminates the requirement to change printer ribbons as often as most standard ID card printers.
The printer also facilitates large print jobs by the size of the card hoppers. The input hopper for the Quantum printer holds 500 PVC cards. Once the cards are through the printer, they exit to an exit hopper that holds 500 cards. These hoppers are larger than the standard input and exit hoppers on most printers that hold 100 cards. The Quantum hoppers are larger and also exchangeable. This means that you can order extra hoppers and have them preloaded. This allows you to change hoppers to keep the card printing job going or to easily use a different cardstock for various card printing requirements.
