The Alcudia archeological Museum has the statue of Dama de Elche. Elche is also called as lady of Elche with her big headdress full of coils but almost resembling a man. Some more excavations are going on near this museum.
Shopping: Alicante is the ideal place for shopping. It is a popular place for buying Chocolate made of Villajoyosa. Elda, sweet wine made of Fondillon, Jijona and salted fish meat are some of the most popular products of Alicante. There are shops dealing exclusively with artworks from local artists. The prices are reasonable.
Food: There are many restaurants serving most delicious food. ‘Tapas’ is a cuisine made from local products. Those who are staying in Villas can try this recipe in their kitchen. Paella recipe is another popular rice menu prepared with meat, pork or chicken. Sea food includes most delicious menu of prawns. These are some of the many varieties of food items prepared in Alicante.
