How about for the reason that you can cut your electricity bill in half effortlessly (even go completely off the grid). Or how about because there is a huge power crisis on this earth. The more we can do as individuals the less we have to count on a govt. that can't seem to get it right.

Reading this article is a good start. In truth, that is exactly how i started, by doin research. You have the advantage though, since there are so many individuals that have already done projects like this you don't have to go through all the trial and error that I did to find the correct set of Home made Windmill Plans.
There are alot of scams out there.
But there are also a couple of trustworthy companies that offer products that will give you a working windmill in a short time. All you provide is a couple hundred bucks, some motivation, and some elebow grease. I went to Earth4Energy to get my plans. One short weekend is all it took for me to build my first windmill!
I won't lie to you, I had some help. My 6 year old daughter and I did it together. It was oodles of joy and super easy, and she was a big help. We now have a operational power generating windmill at our house in the suburbs and it provides on average about 60% of our electricity needs. It only took two months for me to get my investment back!
If you are thinking about making your energy don't pay someone 1000's of dollars to do it for you! If you do you are missing a great chance to have some fun, save some cash, and do something super worthwhile for yourself.
